SPILL PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS
- EMPTY OUT DRUM AND PUT ON ALL PROTECTIVE WEAR,
- IF DRAIN OR MANHOLE ARE NEARBY, IMMEDIATELY COVER WITH DRAIN COVER,
- ASSESS LEAK ORIGIN AND ATTEMPT TO STOP LEAK AT SOURCE WITH PLUG ‘N’ DIKE REPAIR COMPOUND, INSTRUCTIONS AS NOTED BELOW,
- ENCIRCLE SPILL WITH ADSORBENT BOOM,
- PLACE ADSORBENT PADS INTO SPILL CIRCLE TO ADSORB FLUID, RETRIEVE WHEN SATURATED,
- USE GLOVES AND PLACE CONTAMINATED CONTENTS INTO DISPOSAL BAGS,
- CONTACT YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL OR SAFETY OFFICER FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL PROCEDURES.
PLUG AND DIKE PROCEDURE
- Wear gloves for the entire procedure,
- Open Plug N’ Dike jar,
- Scoop and press onto puncture,
- Give 1/4 turn to lock into place,
- Smooth off outside and edges with water,
- Cover patch with grease if left in place for more than 8 hours to prevent drying up,
- If the drum is a problem, roll on the side with the puncture facing up,
- This is only a temporary plug method. Attempt to find a more permanent solution as soon as possible.
